Spotlight On: The Westport Coffeehouse

In the couple of months since local improv collective City 3 has taken root at the Westport Coffeehouse, the art form has blossomed. (Alan Scherstuhl, The Pitch)

In the last year, the Westport Coffeehouse Theatre (4010 Pennsylvania) has become the place to see what's new on the local comedy scene. Most troupes don't have their own spaces, and the 100(ish)-seat theater, great coffee drinks and Westport location make it the perfect venue for improv.

Owners Pam and Tom Ptacek have supported comedy in KC for years; WCH has been home to the KC Improv Festival, the KC High School Improv League and many troupes, past and present.

Stop by for a show soon—and don’t forget to grab a slice of Pam’s homemade strawberry cake. For upcoming shows, check our calendar, below. For more info on WCH, visit westportcoffeehouse.com.
